The Toyota Prius is one of the most successful hybrid cars in the automotive industry and for good reason too. The car features excellent fuel efficiency and it’s a good sized four door family car made by a safe and reliable company. There are some rumors that Toyota is making a sportier version of the Prius, but we like the car just the way it is for now. Here are some features that we think really stand out on the Toyota Prius and help distinguish the car from its competition.

Toyota Prius III

The solar roof package on the Prius is perhaps one of the most impressive and forward thinking features we have seen on any model to date. The package includes a solar powered ventilation system smartly helps keep the vehicle cooler when parked under the sun. This feature is especially great for those that live in extremely hot states such as Arizona and New Mexico. Now when you go out to a store you don’t have to worry about how warm the car will be when you get back to the vehicle. There is also a new feature which allows the driver to remotely activate the air conditioning feature before entering the vehicle.

Our next favorite feature of the car is its impressive fuel efficiency. At the time of the cars release in 2009 it was the most fuel efficient car that was powered by liquid fuel available for purchase in the United States. With all those manufacturers trying to improve their fuel efficiency ratings this was an impressive accomplishment for Toyota. The estimated efficiency as rated by the U.S. EPA standards is a combined 50 miles per gallon.
